SnuggleTimeout

A gentle, consent-based timeout that freezes a player for a set time with a countdown.

A timeout is a quiet moment. The player stays where they are for a little while, with a pink countdown bar at the top of the screen, and then they're free again. It's meant for caregivers and staff, and it only works on players who allow it.

Everyone starts with consent on. Type /timeout consent off if you never want to be put in timeout, and /timeout consent on to allow it again. Staff with the override permission can still give a timeout when consent is off.

What a timeout does

While you're in timeout:

  • You can't walk or move, but you can still look around.
  • You can't break or place blocks, use or click things, or drop items.
  • You can't hurt anyone, and nobody can hurt you.
  • Anything you type in chat stays private. Instead of sending it, you get a soft message saying you're taking a quiet moment.
  • Commands still work, so you can check /timeout status or send a /msg.

A bar at the top shows how long is left. When it runs out you get a "Timeout complete" message and everything goes back to normal.

The timer keeps running if you log out, and it survives server restarts.

Giving a timeout

/timeout <player> <time> [reason] puts someone in timeout. Times use s, m, h and d, and can be combined: 30s, 5m, 1h, 2m30s. The reason is shown to the player.

/timeout release <player> ends it early. You can't stack a second timeout on someone who is already in one.
