SnuggleGraves

When you die, your stuff doesn't spill on the ground. It goes into a grave, a player head with your face on it, and waits for you to come back.

When you die

• A grave appears where you died, holding everything you were carrying and your XP.
• If that spot is taken, it looks for a free spot close by (a few blocks around and up to 8 blocks higher).
• If you fell into the void, the grave goes on the nearest ground, or at world spawn if there is none.
• If no spot can be found at all, your items drop on the ground like normal and you get a message saying so.
• You don't get a grave if keep inventory is on, or if you had nothing to lose.

A floating label above the grave shows your name, how many items and how much XP are inside, and how long until it expires.

Getting back to it

When you respawn you get three helpers:

• A Grave Compass. It points at your grave. Right-click it to turn the tracker on or off. It vanishes by itself once the grave is gone, and it never ends up in a new grave.
• An action-bar tracker. An arrow and the distance in blocks, shown above your hotbar. If the grave is in another world, it tells you which one. Use /graves untrack to hide it and /graves track to bring it back.
• A light beam. A column of white particles rises above the grave. Only you can see it, from up to 128 blocks away.

The death message also has a clickable [Track] button. Lost the compass? Use /graves compass.

Opening a grave

Right-click the grave to collect it. Breaking it works too.

• Items go back into the same slots they were in, including armor and your offhand. Anything that doesn't fit is added to your inventory, and anything left over drops at your feet.
• Your stored XP comes back too.

Rules and timers

For the first 15 minutes only you can open your grave. After that anyone can, and you get a message telling you who took it. Graves can't be blown up, pushed by pistons, flooded, or changed by mobs.

Your graves are saved, so they survive a server restart.

For staff

Staff can open and break any grave, even locked ones. /graves list <player> shows someone else's graves, and clicking a line teleports you there. /graves restore <id> hands a grave back to its owner if they couldn't reach it. Grave ids are the 8-character codes shown in the list, and tab completion fills them in.

Only players with snugglegraves.teleport can use /graves tp, and only for their own graves.
